I have worked with many LASERs in my career. As early as 1986 (when I was involved as a physio at VBV De Graafschap and Handball Club ''de Gazellen''], I started treating sports injuries with LASER therapy with great success.

It already provided faster healing and pain relief with the then Class III (much weaker) Lasers. But with the current generation of Class IV Lasers, this goes even deeper, faster and more effectively. This Class IV LASER that I am working with now is no less than 300,000x stronger than the Class IIIb LASERS of ''back then''!!

Since 1994, I have made many people happy with the effects of the Class IV Copper Vapor LASER, the Erbium:Yag LASER, the KTP LASER and the Ruby LASER for skin treatments in my then Laser Center. So there is a lot of expertise available.

The word LASER is an abbreviation, it is the initial letters of the physical process, an acronym.

(Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation).

It is a treatment mode that directly affects the functioning of the tissue and the cells within it. Simply put: the cells communicate with each other through (light) energy. If that mechanism breaks down, tissue damage occurs. If you pump extra energy into it via LASER, this will enormously improve the regeneration capacity and [therefore] the recovery!

There are now two LASERS set up in the practice. These are used for pain syndromes in trigger points, jaw problems, and for some sports injuries, but also for misunderstood pain complaints, such as the ACNES Pain Syndrome. ShockWave and PE Therapy are often used for this with great success. The practitioner will explain to you what is most suitable for you.

Our new powerful LightForce Class IV Medical LASER can be used daily. You can make arrangements for this with the practitioner. Some costs are not fully reimbursed by the health insurer. You will then receive an invoice that you can pay by card or cash.

Wat is High Power LASER-therapie?

High Power Laser Therapy (also called Photo Bio Modulation) is the application of red and near infrared light (810 AND 980 Nanometer wavelength) to injuries or lesions. This greatly improves local blood circulation and metabolism, resulting in faster recovery, faster healing of wounds and tissues, reduces inflammation and irritations in tissue and ensures a rapid decrease in pain in acute and chronic pain.

How does LASER Therapy work?

Our High Power Laser Therapy has a thermal and a photochemical effect; just like with photosynthesis in plants. When the correct intensity and treatment times are used, this Laser will reduce oxidative stress and increase ATP production [energy in the cell]. This improves cell metabolism and reduces inflammation.

Are there also disadvantages?

Actually none. But there are still 2 simple things to keep in mind:

You should always wear protective glasses because the emitted wavelength is harmful to your eyes if you look directly into the beam, even from meters away. Both the practitioner and the patient and possibly . attendants. Depending on the handpiece used, the treated spot may become warm, even a little hot. This starts with a slight tingling sensation and then quickly becomes hot. The patient must therefore report me if this happens. However, if you continue to move the handpiece enough, this will not occur.
