Physiotherapy Doetinchem is your expert when it comes to the human musculoskeletal system. I treat patients who are hindered in movement in daily life... due to pain, wear and tear, or other matters. The Netherlands has approximately 16,000 physiotherapists who work in independent practices, health centers, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and, increasingly, on the industrial floor.

What does a physiotherapist do?

The physiotherapist treats individual or groups of patients. In addition to the treatment, which may include exercise therapy and massage therapy, the physiotherapist also uses his expertise preventively: for example when advising or guiding patients. The physiotherapist's treatment can have different goals. For example, improving movement functioning, maintaining it and preventing new complaints. Sometimes he will also guide patients to learn to live with a disability and help them, for example, to return to work. In recent years, a lot of attention has been paid to preventive healthcare. The physiotherapist plays an important role in preventing diseases and complaints and bases his work as much as possible on scientific insights and translates that knowledge into his actions in practice.

Do I need a referral?

Since 2006, you no longer need a referral if you want to see a physiotherapist. You may of course first consult your GP if you prefer, but you are free to choose direct contact with a physiotherapist. We call this DTF: Direct Accessibility Physiotherapy.

As of January 1, 2004, physiotherapy (and its specializations) has been largely removed from basic insurance. This means that in most cases you will have to rely on your supplementary insurance. The health insurers have issued various policies for supplementary insurance. It is therefore highly advisable to check how you are insured and what reimbursement for physiotherapy (and its specializations) is included in your policy.

If we have not concluded a contract with your health insurer, you will receive an invoice yourself, which you can PIN from us. You can then submit this invoice to your health insurer. The amount of the reimbursement is highly dependent on the health insurer you choose. The costs of Fysio from your Supplementary Insurance do not affect your DEDUCTIBLE.
