THERAPIES

AVAILABLE THERAPIES

You can make an appointment for a physiotherapy examination without needing a referral. Thanks to thorough training, this physiotherapist has been directly accessible for Screening and Intake since 2006, and that is very easy! But of course you can also contact us if you are referred to a physiotherapist by your GP or specialist.

In addition to regular physiotherapy, our practice offers many other therapies, which you can read more about in the Therapies menu.

Of the total package of therapies that we offer you, only Physio and/or Manual therapy is reimbursed by your health insurer (provided you have taken out additional insurance). If you choose additional treatments in our practice, you must always pay the costs yourself.

Physiotherapy

The physiotherapist Doetinchem is the expert when it comes to the human musculoskeletal system. He treats patients who have difficulty moving in daily life. The Netherlands has approximately 16,000 physiotherapists who work in independent practices, health centers, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and, increasingly, on the industrial floor.

During physiotherapy, the physiotherapist treats individual or groups of patients. In addition to the treatment, which may include exercise therapy and massage therapy, the physiotherapist also uses his expertise preventively: for example when advising or guiding patients.

Ultrasound & ShockWave Therapy

This new method of treatment has its origins in 1980 when urologists first crushed kidney stones using shock waves: the so-called Lithotrypsy or ESWL. With the therapy derived from it: ESWT (Extra Corporeal ShockWave Therapy), you can quickly get rid of your pain or tendonitis without surgery through treatment with FOCUSED HIGH ENERGY SHOCKWAVE! On average, you will get rid of your complaints after 5 to 10 treatments (depending on the condition and the length of time it has existed!)!

ESWT is now considered one of the most innovative developments in the recent treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. Unlike conventional treatment methods, ShockWave therapy combats the condition directly at its origin without medication or surgery. The method is now very well scientifically substantiated and the effects have been clearly established.

PE/EPTE in PPE Therapy

PE / EPTE stands for Percutaneous Electrolysis Therapy [PE for short] and is a treatment method specially developed for the treatment of chronic tendonitis of, for example, the knee, shoulder, elbow and Achilles tendon.

Read more about this on our PE/EPTE and EPI Therapy page.

Laser Therapy

High Power Laser Therapy (also called Photo Bio Modulation) is the application of red and near infrared light (810 AND 980 Nanometer wavelength) to injuries or injuries. This greatly improves local blood circulation and metabolism, resulting in faster recovery, faster healing of wounds and tissues, reduces inflammation and irritation in tissue and ensures a rapid decrease in pain in acute and chronic pain.

Manual therapy

Manual therapy is a specialization within physiotherapy. It is always a treatment method that directly affects the joints of our body, especially those of the spine. In my view it is an integrated system and cannot be seen separately from physiotherapy. Physiotherapy and manual therapy often overlap during treatment.

Many systems have been developed worldwide, to which just as many names are associated. However, the essence is often the same. Central to all forms of manual therapy is improving joint movements throughout the body. At Physiotherapy & ShockWave Doetinchem, the Maitland method is applied. This always starts with "soft", springy pressure techniques, and sometimes (but certainly not always) ends with a quick movement to release the remaining blockage. (“Kraken”)

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a specialization of the (sports) physiotherapist and manual therapist who focuses on relaxing muscle hardening in the body by specifically puncturing the so-called trigger point in the muscle with a needle. It is called DRY-Needling because nothing is injected, it is done with one or more dry acupuncture needles.

A trigger point is a painful spot in a muscle that, in addition to local pressure pain, can also cause radiating pain elsewhere in the body. After targeted treatment of the muscle hardening with an intensive pressure massage and needle treatment, the patient is often also given exercises to maintain the improved mobility that has developed.

Golf physio

In 2009 I was trained as a Golf Physio Pro through 2 professional courses.

The objective of the Golf Physio Therapist is to allow the golfer to practice golf in maximum physical responsibility, all within the player's capabilities, whereby the technical/tactical part of the game naturally lies with the Golf Pro of your club. Using various specific treatment methods, I want to give the golf practitioner a symptom-free golf game and optimal playing pleasure.

Kaakphysio

Jaw physio is suitable for people with symptoms caused by abnormalities and/or dysfunction of the chewing system.

These are (pain) complaints originating from the jaw joint and/or the chewing muscles. This syndrome is also called CranioMandibular Dysfunction (CMD) or Temporo Mandibular Dysfunction (TMD). A mouth full... The disruption of the normal function of the chewing system can lead to problems with, for example, chewing, yawning, eating food, talking, opening the mouth, singing, playing musical instruments, etc. With usually only a few treatments, these complaints belong to the past !
